The Walkaide features a calf strap that aides forward locomotion. It is also a therapy tool to stretch leg muscles and work on gait training. It is small and cosmetic, yet control changes are more difficult to do.
The Bioness unit entails three (3) units. This system provides better body control, along with forward, backward and side-to-side motion where the foot may otherwise drag. The Bioness user can control the unit from the hand held programmer, for greater or lesser stimulation. This added feature works well for people with muscle fatique or active individuals who may need to increase the toe pick up for uneven ground or fatigue later in the day.
